Strontium
Strontium
Aquaforest Strontium is a highly concentrated supplement of strontium and barium. Strontium, after calcium and magnesium, is one of the most important elements needed to accelerate the growth of stony skeletal structures in SPS and LPS corals. It supports the formation of hard coral skeletal tissue and significantly improves calcium absorption, while also being a essential nutrient for soft corals like gorgonians, zoas, and mushrooms.
Any closed aquarium system should consider supplementing this essential nutrient, as protein skimmers and filtration media remove strontium depostits from the water. The strontium level in the reef aquarium should vary between 5 ppm and 15 ppm.
In order to ensure that the aquarium conditions are as close as possible to the natural ones, the preparation was enriched with the addition of barium, which is also present and significant in seawater.
Strontium can be used with:
- SPS corals
- LPS Corals
- Soft Corals
- Clams & other filter feeders
Instructions:
Add 1 drop of Strontium per 100 L (27 gal). 1 ml of Strontium (~15 drops) in 100 l (27 US gal) of water raises the strontium level by 1,09 ppm.
Caution: Overdosing may cause negative effects.
