Hydnophora rigida, commonly known as Horn Coral or Spine Coral, is a striking SPS coral that features thick, finger-like branches and a shimmering, velvety surface. With colors ranging from neon green to golden hues, it adds bold structure and movement to reef aquariums. While easier to maintain than many SPS, it still requires stable water parameters, moderate to strong flow, and high lighting for optimal growth and coloration. Known for its aggressive nature, Hydnophora extends powerful sweeper tentacles, making it important to allow plenty of space between it and neighboring corals.
