The Flat Disc Coral Fungia Granulosa is a striking solitary plate coral that adds a vibrant splash of orange to any reef aquarium. Known for its flat, circular shape and textured surface, this LPS coral is both visually captivating and relatively hardy. Unlike many other corals, Fungia corals are free-living and can move slightly across the substrate.
This species thrives in moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow. It should be placed on a soft sandbed to prevent damage to its delicate tissue. While generally peaceful, it can extend feeding tentacles at night, so keeping a bit of space between it and nearby corals is recommended.
Fungia corals benefit from occasional feedings of meaty foods like mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or other coral-specific foods. With proper care, the Fungia Granulosa makes an excellent centerpiece coral, offering movement, color, and unique shape to your reef setup.
