Favia rosaria, a striking member of the Faviidae family, is a hardy LPS (Large Polyp Stony) coral known for its vibrant coloration and distinctive, maze-like skeletal structure. Its colors range from deep reds and greens to intense purples and blues, making it a standout addition to any reef aquarium. This coral thrives in stable water conditions with moderate lighting and gentle flow, allowing its polyps to extend and capture nutrients efficiently. While relatively easy to care for, Favia corals can be semi-aggressive, extending sweeper tentacles at night to defend their space—so be sure to allow ample room between it and neighboring corals. Regular feedings with small meaty foods or coral-specific blends can enhance growth and coloration. A resilient and visually captivating coral, Favia rosaria is an excellent choice for reef enthusiasts of all experience levels.
