Black Streak Tang (Acanthurus nigricauda)
The Black Streak Tang / Epaulette Surgeonfish features a subdued body coloration with a distinct black streak near the base of the tail, resembling an “epaulette.” It is less colorful than other tangs but plays an important ecological role by grazing detritus and algae. Best kept in large aquaria with plenty of swimming space and rockwork for grazing.
