Location: Bay Aquatics
Pay Rate: $24-26 per hour
Hours: 12 hours per week (Saturday and Sunday)
Contract Type: Fixed-term (until 31st January 2025)

Job Description:
We are looking for a friendly and reliable retail assistant to join our team at Bay Aquatics over the holiday period. This position will require someone with a passion for customer service and an interest in fish husbandry, working in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high standard of store presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide excellent customer service, helping customers with inquiries and making product recommendations.
• Process customer orders efficiently
• Handle cash transactions accurately, including operating the till and processing payments.
• Gain and apply basic knowledge of fish care, assisting customers with their purchases and offering care advice.
• Clean and maintain the store, ensuring that the retail environment is tidy and presentable.
• Assist in stocking shelves, replenishing inventory, and checking product quality.
• Ensure health and safety protocols are followed, particularly around the handling of aquatic products.

Requirements:

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not essential.
• A minimum basic understanding and a willingness to learn about fish husbandry.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Must be available to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
• Flexibility to adapt to the fast-paced retail environment during peak holiday periods.
• Possibility to work additional days as needed

Contract Duration:
This is a fixed-term contract position, starting as soon as possible and running through until 31st January 2025. This role has the possibility to be extended at end of contract
