Zoanthus sp., commonly known as Zoanthids or "Zoas," are a highly sought-after soft coral known for their stunning variety of colors and patterns. These fast-growing colonial corals form dense mats and thrive in a wide range of reef conditions, making them ideal for both beginner and experienced reef keepers. They prefer moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow to maintain their vibrant appearance. While generally peaceful, Zoanthids can spread quickly, so careful placement is recommended. Regular feedings with planktonic foods can enhance growth and coloration. Caution should be taken, as some species contain palytoxin, requiring careful handling.
