Australian Scoly

Scolymia australis, commonly known as the Australian Scoly or Button Coral, is a highly prized LPS (Large Polyp Stony) coral known for its bold, vibrant colors, including reds, greens, oranges, and blues. Its circular, fleshy body gives it a distinctive appearance, making it a striking focal point in any reef aquarium. This hardy coral thrives in low to moderate lighting and gentle flow, allowing it to fully expand without excessive stress. While relatively easy to care for, it benefits from occasional target feeding with meaty foods such as mysis shrimp or reef-specific pellets to maintain its health and color intensity. Though generally peaceful, Scolymia can extend sweeper tentacles at night, so providing adequate space is recommended.
